I've been coming here for about 10 years. I love this place. Food is always delicious & drinks are well made. Service is good. Always enjoy it & have brought almost everyone I know here lol. This location is the best.

Everything here was absolutely mouthwatering, full of flavor ! The staff and service were amazing ! They accompanied us very well and tolerated us with 2 toddlers and an infant - much appreciated !

My first impression was that this restaurant is very affordable & the ambiance was beautiful, my partner & I sat outside on their nice patio. The guacamole was delicious I loved that it had pineapple in it, it gave such a nice splash of flavor. My steak dinner was absolutely delicious. The fried crust on top was extremely delicious. Upon ordering, I had no idea there was crust on it. I thought I was getting a regular sirloin steak/ there was a bit of a language barrier between us and the waiter. He said the steaks were made on the grill but this steak was clearly fried. But overall I loved the fried steak. My partner was disappointed because he did not want to eat anything fried. Also, the rice and beans were absolutely delicious.

Bang for the Buck is still ringing in my ears. Service is excellent and food is superb. Ambiance is reminding you of Little Havana in Miami although it is a little colder weatherwise but that doesn't present a problem. Came here after a visit to New York City. We were looking for a place to eat during lunch and thought it might be a good place. The place didn't disappoint. I think they just opened for lunch and a lot of things were still setting up but it didn't matter. The only thing that was slightly off the mark and I mean every so slightly was Filete de Pescado con Cangrejo and not because it wasn't good. It was just a little too much and probably because it was covered in Crab meat it made bass a little watery. It was tasty it was good it was a little too much but just slightly off the mark. Since we visited on Sunday they had Ajiaco available and boy that was one of the best soups I've ever had. Honestly if you have a chance to visit this place please do. You won't be disappointed.

This place is called RUMBA for a reason. I am a Cuban Native and let me just say from the food to the music this place doesn't disappoint. I had an amazing dinner with a friend as we discussed business in the downstairs area. Once we were done we were allowed to go to the second floor to party and dance. The service and the atmosphere matched to the T. I was impressed by how knowledgable although not Cuban some employees were about the culture,

You get bang for your buck. The food are drinks are excellent and at the best prices in the area. The waiting staff is top notch. They don't take reservations so be ready to wait to be seated during dinner service.

(Dined 07/14/23 FR @ 8:00pm): My belly was doing the rumba for some Cuban food after drinking with friends! Rumba Cubana was the closest desirable restaurant walking distance from New Jersey Brewing Co. where a small group of us were drinking. I Liked Cuban cuisine but had to limit myself to seafood on this no-meat Friday. This place was bumping and was my first experience with Cuban food in New Jersey, so I was excited about that. Would the flavors of this Caribbean island tantalize our taste buds to dance and do the rumba in our respective mouths!? PURCHASE Rumba's Cadillac ($13.95): Made with El Jimador reposado tequila, lime juice, triple sec, sour mix, and Grand Marnier floated on top, this margarita was a welcomed change of pace from the hoppier beers we were drinking. Sorry... forgot to snap a picture, Blue Cuban #2 ($13.95): Made with Selvarey white rum, blue curaçao, Rumba's coconut mix, lime juice, and coconut water floated on top, I was solely sold on the color of this blue Hawaiian which could've used more rum. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=e9QckStlEHqymszZ-aKr3g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Ceviche De Camarones ($8.95): Shrimp cured in lime-tomato marinade, onions, and cilantro, served with crispy plantain chips, I was disappointed with the small portion, the lack of shrimp, and wished the marinade was spicier and thicker. The plantain chips seemed like a throwaway. A simple but lackluster dish. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=DdTOMnsLfBowFvxqFSpE_g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw El Pescador ($19.95): Pan-seared filet of fish topped with shrimp, shimmered in a zesty creole sauce, white rice, and sweet plantains, the fish although on the small side was nice and moist, the shrimp was a lovely touch, and the mound of steaming white rice paired well with the sauce while the sweet plantains was an dessert. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=oI8ByUxaeF0LpTXpjArviw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw SERVICE We were warmly greeted by an older gentleman who was able to find us a table on a busy Friday night. Although we needed time to decide what to eat, we all quickly ordered drinks which came out surprisingly fast. Once our party of five ordered food, our dishes arrived around ten minutes later. We were periodically checked on with empties being removed and our water glasses filled. They allowed us to relax and converse after we were done with no pressure to leave - thank you! PARKING (FREE; N/A this instance) We initially took the light rail to Tonnelle Ave. Station to drink at nearby New Jersey Brewing Co., which was then a quick five minute walk to this eatery. They had their own sizable onsite lot. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Tonnelle Ave. and nearby surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large floorplan with several rooms completely packed with chairs/tables and a familiar homely feel. Honestly, I couldn't recall anything else since I was more focused on getting some food into my belly. During the daytime, I imagined plenty of natural lighting entered through the many glass windows while a ton of dim electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I couldn't recall if there were any TVs or any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL For the brief amount of time spent here on pure happenstance, I'd like to make another visit especially on a non-Friday. Based on what everyone else ordered and my own, I felt there were more than enough positive things I saw. The menu had plenty of options, the prices were comparable, the drinks and food were good enough, and the service was adequate. And, whenever possible I liked to support small family-owned and/or local businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Rumba Cubana in North Bergen completed our quest to dine at all of the Rumba Cubana locations. As always, the food was delicious and the service was good. We visited this location for brunch after the Breast Cancer Walk in Newark on Sunday the 15th of October 2023. It was early so parking was very easy, the lot was nearly empty. We were seated immediately. Our server was very nice. The decor was tropical and cuban esq. Music was low enough to add to the ambience and still allowed for conversation. The food was on point, hot and delicious, My daughter had the dish that comes with a little of everything and she loved it. My husband and I had the fish and shrimp in a tomato sauce with black rice and fried sweet plantains. So delicious. Now we will select a new restaurant group to try!
